Celebrating Freedom today… as you set alight the sparklers and awe at the fireworks, I celebrate with you the bravery of those whom have fought for our right to freedom. Many are in distant lands soldiering on for these same rights today. It strikes me even more the brave love of our savior, Jesus Christ, whom went to the cross willingly for us. We may not think of it everyday as the distractions of living keep us lulled to a cadence of pursuing. I for one have decided to put off the distractions and embrace the freedom that comes from walking with Christ moment by moment. Often, when looking at the world, choosing a freedom path feels more chaotic or challenging. But I think not in the long run… it is more about trading my habits and hangups for what makes me more like Him to the end. So, as I travel this day and look up in the night sky tonight, there is an awe of Christ’s freedom over my life.
To the sacrifice… To freedom… To freely live!
